Medical oncology is a specialty that deals with the diagnosis, staging and treatment of cancer through various types of medications or substances using chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy and targeted therapy. Treatment for most of the cancers involves coordination of Medical Oncology with Surgical Oncology or Radiation Oncology to give the best clinical outcomes.
